Pain Unlimited GmbH was established in 1997 by Vibeke Windeløv and is based in Cologne, Germany. Pain Unlimited is situated in the heart of Europe, and one of the company’s aims is to focus on quality features attracting an international audience.

The company is also looking to produce documentaries and low budget German features, as well as many other formats. Since March 2002 Bettina Brokemper is the general manager of Pain Unlimited.

On March 7th 2008 the companys’ name was changed to ZENTROPA INTERNATIONAL KÖLN.
